A Few Days Ago, I Went to Longyou County in Quzhou for a Friend’s Wedding and Tried Some Local Snacks Recommended by the Locals.**
I’d heard before that Quzhou is the most spice-loving place in Zhejiang, and I’ve witnessed my Quzhou friends’ chili tolerance firsthand. This time, I got to experience it locally. Since it’s close to Jiangxi, the food is indeed spicier than in other parts of Zhejiang, though not as extreme as in Jiangxi. Many snacks also blend in the sweet flavors typical of Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine, like scallion buns, crystal cake (水晶糕), and baked pies.
*Restaurants Recommended by Locals:*
1️⃣ *Wang Agai Snacks*
The *white pepper fried pork* is worth trying, but other dishes weren’t as surprising—similar to places like Yang Azhen.
*Cost:* ~¥40 per person
*What we ordered:* Duck head, duck feet, crystal cake, white pepper fried pork, meat dumplings (肉粿), scallion buns, and stir-fried rice noodles (炒粉干).
2️⃣ *Auntie Liu’s Baked Pies (柳阿姨烤饼)*
*Highly recommended!* They offer two types: *large dried vegetable (梅干菜) pies* and **small fresh meat pies**.
*Cost:* ~¥6 per person
The texture and layers of flavor are amazing—definitely different from ordinary baked pies and hard to find elsewhere.
