Originally, I had planned to take the 9:30 ferry after my night in the cabin on Grinda. For some reason, the schedule only had one ferry in the morning and then a series of them starting at 2:40 PM. I had intended to stop at Vaxholm and see the fortress. But the Swedes rebuilt the older fortress in the 19th century, reducing its authenticity. Furthermore, I would have had to drag my suitcase around on Vaxholm and on a ferry to and from the separate island with the fortress. Above and beyond that, I would have had little time to really soak in the relaxing experience on Grinda by leaving so early in the morning.
Thus I changed plans and stayed the full morning. I walked around most of the island, saw the animals (some really angry animals), and let my blood pressure decrease. I finally took the ferry at 2:40, having grown bored at that point, and made it back to Stockholm at about five o'clock.
