Ladies, gentlemen and children... welcome to Cut & Thrust's full version of the theme music to Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game from the 90s.
The Generation Game was a British game show produced by BBC TV, in which four teams of two people from the same family, but different generations, compete to win prizes. Originally presented by Bruce Forsyth from 1971-1977, this hugely popular show would return in 1990 (13 years later) with Bruce hosting the show once again from 1990-1994.
Being a dancer, singer and all-round entertainer, Bruce wrote and sang the theme tune ('Life Is The Name Of The Game') to both the 70s and 90s versions of the show. The 70s version was released as a 7 inch single but the 90s version (by Bruce Forsyth and Ian Wilson) never had a commercial release and can only be heard as part of the TV show. It was also much shorter, so I thought it was time to give it a C&T remix!
I’ve also included some of Bruce’s quotes and the BBC TV announcer who introduced the very first show of the 90s series.
Ladies, gentlemen and children… I hope you enjoy it!
No copyright infringement intended. This is a tribute remix born out of my love for the show and childhood memories. Copyright belongs to Bruce Forsyth/Ian Wilson/BBC TV.
