My Netherlands Trip in Autumn

I left my place in Germany at around 8 PM on September 26, 2025, heading to Würzburg to catch my FlixBus to Amsterdam. The bus was scheduled for 11 PM, but—of course—travel drama happened. It arrived almost at 1 AM. Still, the important thing was that I made it, and by the next morning, September 27, I was in Amsterdam just in time for my sister’s birthday.

We celebrated with my cousin and some friends. We stopped by a Saturday market where they let me try kibbeling (so good!), and we chilled until our most awaited birthday dinner at Jinsa. And wow… we ate everything. Sushi, seafood, Korean BBQ, unlimited drinks, desserts—you name it. I came for the sushi and kbbq, but my focus quickly became the oysters. What. A. Feast.

The next day was much more relaxed. My sister’s host dad offered to take us on a free boat tour along Amsterdam’s majestic canals. The weather blessed us—it was a clear, beautiful day, and I soaked in every second of it. Seeing Amsterdam from the canals is just a different kind of magic.

On Monday, my third day, everyone was busy so I spent it solo. First on my itinerary: the Our Lord in the Attic Museum. But in true Kristine fashion… I forgot my Museumkaart. I had to cancel. On my way back, though, I discovered a Monday Market and bought three pants for 10 euros. Such a deal, especially for someone like me who’s naturally tihik.

Later, I met up with my sister because she and her friends were visiting the Cheese Museum. I went mainly to use the card and to taste different cheeses, of course. After that, I headed to the Royal Palace Amsterdam for my schedule. Being inside was surreal—getting a glimpse of palace interiors, the rooms, the history. I really enjoyed the audio guide; it made everything feel more alive.

I spent some time at Dam Square afterward, just sitting, watching people enjoy their afternoon. Honestly, I stayed because I loved the sound of children laughing while chasing bubbles. After more walking to kill time, I finally got my new museum pass in the late afternoon and entered the Our Lord in the Attic Museum. (I filmed it vertically—again—so I put it in another video.)

The next morning was a highlight: Van Gogh Museum day! Another separate vertical video for that one, too.

On Wednesday, I decided to leave Amsterdam for a bit. I originally thought of Utrecht, but my heart was calling for the beach. So off to Den Haag I went—FlixBus, of course, because budget traveler things. Since the day was too long to spend entirely at the beach, I started with the Mauritshuis. Seeing the 15th–17th century art collections was beautiful, but The Girl with the Pearl Earring? Stunning. I kept returning to her room again and again. She was so beautiful I couldn’t leave without one last look.

After #studyingermany #vlog #germany ward, I walked a lot, explored a bit more, then finally took the tram to the beach. First order of business? Food and drinks—I was starving. Then I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon by the sea.

The next day, Joan and Lang2 had free time, so we went together on a short trip to Zaandam and Zaanse Schans. What I thought would be a short visit turned into something so full and meaningful. Again, no full video here because… vertical filming strikes again. I have it in a separate one.

Friday was my rest day. I realized I had been out almost every single day, so I took it slow. In the evening we had dinner to celebrate my sister’s last night in Amsterdam—and mine too. I’m not sure when I’ll be back. Maybe in a few years.

On Saturday, my final day, we headed to Eindhoven because my sister was flying to Madrid. I wished her all the best—stay strong, you can do all things, sister. Since I still had time before my bus, I took a quick side trip to Rotterdam and spent about two hours there before heading back to Amsterdam for my FlixBus home.
