Practice makes perfect. And experimentation on your own can lead to some fine results. Yet, there's nothing quite like seeing how a professional approaches a set of problems that you are faced with.
This video is focused on the shaping and finishing of a mouthpiece for a bamboo shanked pipe. There are many similarities to the work that goes into a standard mouthpiece, but some of the differences are quite important. In this case, the bamboo is 'buddha' bamboo, which is especially delicate and has a unique shape that I feel requires a special shaping of the ebonite to replicate nature as it transitions toward the 'business' end of the mouthpiece.
Also, many have requested a list of tools that I use in my videos. Below you will find links to several of the tools that are for sale on Amazon. Additionally, I've provided links to the cameras and lenses that I use for my pipe photography and for filming these videos, should you have an interest.
