Michellene Davis ’97, EVP & Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of RWJBarnabas Health, recently spoke with Seton Hall Law Professor John Jacobi on a wide range of topics related to COVID-19. As a leading voice on social determinants of health, she gives her perspective on how COVID-19 is creating newly vulnerable communities and how long-standing health inequities are magnified during this crisis. She reflects on the City of Newark, her role in its reopening, and potential strategies for addressing health inequities there. She also identifies challenges in healthcare delivery to women and people of color and the importance of compliance and privacy issues in the execution of COVID-related initiatives.
