How to upgrade a custom singlecut Bass with East Uni-Pre 5K & Hotwire Soapbars - PIMP IT!

This custom VLCEK headless bass from Czechoslovakia came in with noisy single-coil pickups, outdated electronics, and a broken Roland synth pickup. My mission? Turn it into a stage-ready pro instrument.

🔧 What we did:
Installed an East Uni-Pre 5K preamp
Performed a complete fret job
Fixed the grounding issues with the single-rider bridges
Serviced the headless tuners for smooth action
Replaced the jack with a high-quality East on a plate
Upgraded to Hotwire soapbars with series/parallel switching for noiseless, flexible tone
The result: a killer, noise-free bass with massive tonal range—perfect for both studio and live work.
