Pope Leo, who is celebrating his first Christmas as the head of the Roman Catholic Church, will deliver the traditional Urbi et Orbi blessing from the balcony overlooking Saint Peter's Square today.
Unusually, he is also presiding over mass this morning, something a Pope hasn't done for more than 30 years.
