Buying a used boat located in another country, definitely gave me some insight as to how I tick when it comes to certainty versus ambiguity. I am a great fan of the adage “Leap and the Net Will Appear.” Sometimes when there are a lot of unknowns, but the potential upside to the experience is so important, I just pray a little and take the leap, hoping that a net will magically appear to keep me out of harm’s way.

When buying a boat, the term “certainty” goes out the window. There’s no real way to know if the boat will have problems, any more than you can know when you’re buying a car. Buying a used boat is even more of a challenge.

What really helped is we knew exactly what we wanted. We wanted a boat that had as much living space as possible at the water level, like a catamaran, but we wanted it to sail like a monohull. And boy were we lucky. We love our Moody 45 DS and you'll see Corey's enthusiasm as to why.
