Emirates First Class – Sydney to Dubai (EK 415) – Airbus A380-800

In this trip report, we look at an Emirates First Class flight from Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport to Dubai International Airport on an Airbus A380-800.

The video starts off with a luxury Audi SUV limousine ride to the airport which comes complimentary with an Emirates First Class ticket. After using the priority check-in counter and the fast-track security lane, I head straight to the Emirates Lounge which is just a level below the boarding gate. The lounge is a joint First and Business Class lounge, and I notice there’s no extra perks for being a First Class passenger. I review the lounge ambiance, seating, food/drinks and amenities in detail.

The First Class cabin on the A380-800 is situated at the front end of the upper deck. The cabin has 14 private First Class suites arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. After the flight takes off, I have a detailed look at the closed suite. I found the product to be incredibly private, spacious and comfortable. The suite has plenty of storage space, a sizeable side-table and a small personal mini-bar. There’s also multiple light sources, air vents, an illuminated vanity mirror, a snack basket and a private closet. Several amenities are available, including a set of pyjamas, slippers, eye mask, a Bulgari amenity kit and a Byredo personal spa kit.

On the 14 hours flight, the meals are served on a “dine-on-demand” basis meaning that passengers can eat what they want, whenever they want. The multi-course meals are served with Robert Welch cutlery on Royal Doulton fine china. There's a small First Class bar & lounge found at the front of the upper deck. Nearby, there’s a couple of oversized shower spas which I review in detail just prior to landing. On this flight, I also review the IFE system (called ICE), the on-board WiFi (which is free!) and the comfortable lie-flat bed (where I get plenty of good quality sleep).

The flight touches down on-schedule. After disembarking I head to the transit station to catch my connecting First Class flight to Vienna.
