Suwon’s Hwaseong Fortress was built in the late 1700’s – it is a king’s residential palace surrounded by a fortress wall and 4 gates and is a UNESCO Heritage site. Their annual cultural festival is in its 59th year and is a staple of the Korean festival circuit. If you’re travelling in Korea in the fall – I give this my highest recommendation!
Over the next two days we’ll be checking out dazzling art media installations, going on a stamp tour, watching incredible modernized versions of traditional performances, taking in some local culture, and having ourselves a good time!
