This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The talk is about the changes in the media, media consumption and the way that these changes not only affect our individual behavior but also our power structure.

Rodrigo Moita de Deus studied Marketing Management at the Impact Institute in Lisbon. He started working in advertising but soon discovered his sensitivity for the media business. In that area he experienced several different positions.

From journalist to editor and manager. During this period he published two bestselling novels. Since then Rodrigo is a columnist in several magazines.

He currently signs a weekly chronic in FdS – the Portuguese Economical Diary Magazine. Rodrigo has also become a commentator in several TV channels and programs

In 2006 he was one of the creators of 31 da Armada. One of the most popular blogs in Portuguese language. 31 da Armada distinguished itself for its political and social activism and for being one of the first blogs to produce videos.

The actions, success and innovation of 31 da Armada brought him several invitations for national and international conferences.

Professionally, in 2010, started NextPower. A Social Media and Communication consultancy agency. Four years later NextPower is one of the top10 agencies in
the Portuguese market having several case studies in social media and political campaigns.

Rodrigo was also an elected member of the Social Democratic Party Political Board, member of the Portuguese Royal Council, jury member of Portugal Ventures (business angel fund), member of the Think Tank 20 from ipsos

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
