This is the day that all undergraduates have to be back at Oxford University by, with lectures and tutorials starting next Monday. It's also the second day of Freshers' Fair, when clubs and societies advertise in the Examination Schools on The High. I walk to the Schools from WHSmith in Cornmarket — a path that will have been followed by many stallholders over the years — and explain this high spot in the University calendar.
