Riding the Yellow Line - Day 25
With Pikes Peak in our view we left our last night in Colorado and set off for the historic town of Dodge City, Kansas. Just a pass through/travel day with no planned adventure we reminisced about the journey, laughed and admired our surroundings as we chased the next states boundary. In Pueblo we followed the GPS directly to the outer locked gate with absolutely no way of getting in, of a complex with three types of courses, A dirt oval and a Drag Strip and a Road Course. So an official bust there. Right before off of the highway on the opposite side I saw another racetrack and alerted @hankzemo so we looked for an exit but never found one, but I did get the chance to read the sign and I believe it was called 25 Speedway and it was dirt. Another close call. Finally after crossing into the Sunflower State we hit gold. Stumbled upon the Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kansas. So one hour in and the true visit box was checked 🏁
Finished our arrival in Dodge City just as the sun set.
