This is the second recording from my latest morning visit to the old Aberdare South colliery dam at Abernathy. The mics were left at the edge of the dam to pick up the unique reflections the waters surface creates, and offers a very different experience to the bushland further out where the other rig was placed.
00:00 - crickets before dawn
08:45 - the first birds begin to stir
17:50 - someone wakes up right next to the mics
32:19 - the whip birds and bell birds join in
Audio recorded with the zoom f4, with a pair of lewitt lct 441 flex (figure 8 mode) in a faulkner array (20cm AB spacing). Images from the canon 5d2 with 24-70 and 70-200 f/4 L lenses.
