There are times when you might see where a downed bird fell, but your dog didn't. You not only need to be able to handle your retriever into the area, but also get them to hunt and hold that spot. You don't want your dog getting out there and either not be able to stop or not hold the area.
This week, Josh walks you through a series of retriever training drills to practice this. From easy retrieves up to increasing difficulty for seasoned retrievers. He also talks about the importance of knowing how to read your dog and when to use a whistle.
