A time capsule from Star Star's "Love Drag Years" era.
Dedicated to the memories of Jay Hening and Deon Molyneux.

This song was recorded on a cassette tape during the time that Jay and I lived with my mom. It was an outpouring of emotion by Jay who also sang the demo. The song haunted us for years and we always talked about doing a real recording of it. So...finally, we managed to extract Jay's voice from the cassette. I sang along with his vocal and we added piano, bass, drums and guitar parts.

It was very emotional for Weeds and I to work on this track.... A true connection to Jay and Deon.

Star Star... some quick info about the "Love Drag Years" era:

Jay Hening (RIP) - guitar.
Deon Molyneux (RIP) - drums.
Weeds - bass.
Johnnie Holliday - vocals, guitar.

Even though Star Star is considered a New York band, they originally formed in Hollywood.
They signed to the Roadrunner label and took a year to record the "The Love Drag Years".
The big budget project included producers Earle Mankey, Richard Gottehrer, Neil Kernon and Phil Greene and was produced at six major studios in New York, Los Angeles and New England.

A dark period followed. Singer, Johnnie had a serious car accident and had to undergo multiple surgeries.
More tragic blows came when guitarist Jay Hening killed himself, and drummer Deon got sick and died.

Johnnie and Weeds ended up in Europe where they met drummer Jak Kennedy hanging out at the clubs.
He joined the band and Star Star became a trio.
To round out their new sound they added two background singers, "The Trashettes".

The band played all over the US and Europe. Headlining smaller venues and as the opening act for bands like Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, Guns n Roses, and many more.

In 2002, STAR STAR became SCREAM IDOL, and have released their debut album and a bunch of singles so far.
