The Math Map Week 1 Days 2-4 New Grammar Fun

Hello! This is CC Math Map week 1, Our Days 3 through 4 Math Grammar.
Turn to page 6. Instead of reading this… we watched Curious George, Season 1 Episode 3, the first story, called “Zeros to Donuts.”
Turn to page 11. Did I really skip pages 7-10? Yes, I did. And that is OKAY! You are not bound to read every box every week. If you see something that you think your 4 yo or 8 yo will understand, please tell us about it in the comments section below!

On page 11, we find our last three grammar sentences.
First is the Identity Law for Addition. What is the Identity Law for Addition? We cover it in all cycles, week 24.
Here’s the song we learned:

Next, we have “The Inverse Law for Addition.” What is the inverse law for addition? I used the tune Twinkle Twinkle to memorize it.

We are now to our final memory sentence of Week 1!!! Yay!!!
It is actually a review of the identity law of multiplication! Which we learned in all cycles, week 24.
We learned it like this:
The Identity Law for multiplication- “The identity law for multiplication states: A times one equals A.”

After we finished our lessons this week, we read A picture book called: “A Place for Zero” by LoPresti. It was GREAT.

At the end of the Math week, I like to connect what we learn to the Gospel. So this week’s Gospel connection is Romans 8:39 which says, “...neither height nor depth, no anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
All of this learning about geometry, earth measuring, reminds me of the hymn lyrics: “How deep the Father’s love for us. How vast beyond all measure- that He would give his Only Son to make a wretch His treasure.”
