My First Corset | Making Regency Short Stays | Wearable Mockup | Laughing Moon 115 Review
I can’t believe I am finally making my first corset (actually my first stays)! I have been so intimidated to actually start this pattern, but I am certainly happy I did!
The pattern I decided to start with is Laughing Moon’s Traditional Ladies Regency Corset #115 – Regency Short Stays. I knew I absolutely had to make a mock-up for this pattern, so I tricked myself into actually making one by making a video of making a wearable mock-up (or toile). It will definitely help in the future for remembering what I need to fix and work on!
I needed to make Regency stays for a project I am working on (which will be out soon) and because I need more time to work on the actual costume (and these stays will only be under the dress and not shown) I figured a mockup will work perfectly!
I did run into a few issues with the pattern – most of the techniques used are completely new to me, so for the most part I think I did well! The pattern itself was pretty straight forward, there were a few errors in the pattern, but other than those it was pretty easy to work with – just REALLY time consuming!
I hope you enjoyed my first attempt at Regency Stays! Please like and subscribe - I post sewing videos every Monday and craft/misc videos every other Friday!
See ya there!
