Dozens of Anti-Foie Gras Activists Disrupt David von Storch’s Businesses

Several protesters disrupted VIDA Fitness, Bang Salon, and Aura Spa - all businesses owned by David von Storch, an associate of Omni Hotels & Resorts.

The campaign against Omni is because of their refusal to adopt a permanent and company-wide foie gras-free policy.

Due to the campaign, Omni has removed foie gras from all of their menus, but they want to keep the door open to be able to serve it again. Activists have pushed back saying they will not stop until they get the permanent foie gras-free policy that they have asked for.

Foie gras is a cruel dish that involved force-feeding a duck or goose with a pipe every day until they contract fatty liver disease. The diseased liver is then sold as a so-called luxury item.

The controversial dish has been banned in well over a dozen countries as well as the state of California and the City of Pittsburgh, but Omni has so far been unwilling to close the door completely on foie gras.
