Thanks to lb3361 for pointing it out. I found a small problem with my circuit; the lower 4 bits of the xout output were reversed. I've now fixed this error. Since the r2r DAC is a very symmetrical structure, I only needed to modify two wires to solve the problem. Now I'll test the 8-bit audio.
The sound is noticeably clearer, and the noise is significantly reduced. This is a very significant improvement.
You can hear that the 4-bit DAC has a lot of noise, which seems to be mixed in with the sine wave.
