📌 About Ascension Church, Bangalore:

The Ascension Church, located in the St. Mary’s Church campus at Maruthi Seva Nagar, traces its origins to the vision of late Archbishop Thomas Pothacamury, who purchased 15 acres of land even before India’s independence to foster a strong Catholic presence in the area. Over time, this land became home to several Catholic institutions that support education, spirituality, and charitable work.

In 1968, Ascension Church was officially established as a parish with Fr. Joachim D’Souza as its first parish priest. Today, the church continues to be a thriving spiritual hub, offering Masses in English, Kannada, and Tamil and engaging in vibrant parish activities.
