The Black Cat Waltz - Robert Van Horne

This piece was written especially for Halloween by Robert Van Horne, who describes the piece as follows:

"A few years ago, a young piano student had finished learning a Halloween song from her lesson book. She asked me for another Halloween piece to learn. I decided instead, to write a piano composition that she could play. The following week I told her that if she would learn this new piece of music, she could name it. She played it well and came up with a brilliant title, indeed!"

I think his student is right that it sounds like a cat jumping and creeping and dancing.

Robert Van Horne is a graduate of the Philadelphia Musical Academy. He majored in piano and composition and has studied both classical and jazz music with several teachers, including the well-known pianist George Shearing.

He is an accomplished classical and jazz pianist, composer, entertainer and recording artist who performs internationally. His compositions have won several awards. He resides in Northern California and his website is:
