This world is a wilderness. John Bunyan began Pilgrim’s Progess in this way: “As I walked through the wilderness of this world...” Spurgeon frequently alludes to his beloved Pilgrim’s Progress. This sermon is no exception.
We need to see sin for what it is; and to recognize the arid nature of everything outside of God. Only in Him can we find peace, plenty and fruitfulness.
