Knotless Wire Traces- Knot2Kinky
Here is a DIY, step-by-step tutorial breaking down how to make a far more efficient, convenient, KNOTLESS and easy to use wire-trace system, over standard piano wire. This rig was developed predominantly for fly fishing for TigerFish on the Zambezi River but can be adapted accordingly for anything from Musky and Pike, to Mackerel and Barracuda.
No more haywire twists, far less conspicuous wire for discerning fish or pressured fisheries and most importantly, INFINITELY FEWER KINKS.
The use of crimps and the crimp tool here means a far cleaner and more refined overall trace and wire setup, compared to “knotable” wire setups where the knots don’t ever seat nicely, and are either prone to opening or, if pulled/forced too aggressively, greatly weaken the wire.
