It's New Year's Eve and to celebrate we're taking a close look at a fabulous self clinging climber that's native to Mexico: Hydrangea seemannii. As Stephen says, there aren't THAT many self-clinging, flowering, shade loving, climbing plants that can take a wide range climatic conditions! And perhaps apt for this festive season Stephen also points out that climbing plants are like puppies: for life not just for Christmas! We begin though with a quick detour via a Clematis viticella type that ALSO ranks in the pantheon of great climbers! And finally the one thing Stephen is most excited about for the New Year is that the Weather Bureau has announced its a La Niña year so to learn just what means stick around to the end when Stephen explains what La Niña is and why he's so excited!
