Arizona backyard food forest - August 22, 2025 Garden Update

Come hang out with me and check out our summer garden.

After last night’s rainstorm, the garden soaked up every drop—and today was the perfect time to fertilize our fruit trees. 🌧️🌳 Moist soil helps carry the nutrients down to the roots where the trees need them most. With Labor Day weekend just a week away, this is one of my favorite late-summer rituals to give the orchard a boost before we head into fall.

The fertilizer mix I use includes:
