Kawasaki’s latest small-capacity sportbike, the Ninja 400, certainly has a lot going for it. It’s 399cc parallel twin engine represents a pretty solid performance leap over the Ninja 300. There’s even a reduction in kerb mass, along with a reduction in wheelbase and a tightening of the steering angle. On paper, at least, it promises loads of excitement.

So now that we’ve tested the Ninja 400, the key aspects to answer are whether the class-leading on-paper numbers translate to class-leading performance in the real world, but more importantly, whether the bump in the performance justify it’s exorbitant ex-showroom price in India of Rs 4.69 lakh.
