Diy Budget Go-Ped

I wanted a motor scooter and I watched some videos, and everyone who made them had fancy equipment like welders and plasma cutters, so I wanted to prove this can be done with simple tools and no welding.

Cost breakdown:
Broken electric Scooter off marketplace: $15
Remove the junk electrical components and continue.
#25 chain off amazon: $12
It came with some master links and a chain breaker

You might be able to use the original chain on the scooter but I couldn’t do that with my design

Paint (not necessary but I painted mine)
$15 for paint

I got an engine and twist throttle from a friend. Twist throttles are about $15

People sell trimmer engines on marketplace all the time. Make sure you buy one with a pull start on the back. Otherwise it wont have a clutch, and for this you want a clutch.

I recommend the Echo GT-230, Ryobi SS-30,
Or Ryobi full crank. Honda GX 35 or kawsaki trimmer engines would also be good.

You will need JB weld

Mounting Hardware: $8
1/4 20 bolts and nuts
I found scrap steel angle for mounts.
I don’t recommend diamond plate unless that’s all you have. It flexes too much. Live and learn I guess
