Powderface Ridge:
This trail can be ridden in both directions. I prefer riding North to South, parking at the start of the Powderface Trail (where Hwy 66 turns to a gravel road at the intersection with Little Elbow Campground). Ride up the Powderface Trail to the junction of the Powderface Creek Trail. The wide and sometimes loose single-track climb is 100% rideable if you have the legs. As the forest opens, you'll reach the intersection with the Powderface Ridge trail. Turn right and re-enter the forest for some somewhat easier climbing until you come out on the ridge. The ridge features several short sections of technical rocky riding where balance and power is rewarded. At the very top of the ridge look for the marker for the trail as it descends sharply to your left back into the forested slopes. It's a long and fast trip down with a couple of short climbs to wake up your tired legs. The last few hundred metres of the trail have suffered from years of erosion and have become a braided mash of roots and loose rock.
Powderface Creek:
The new trail to the summit (on the east side) is excellent. You can now ride all the way to the top. Smooth but steep, so expect to take frequent breaks. Reminds me of Shattered but without all the switchbacks.
