لوله قطره چکان دار، لوله ای از جنس پلی اتیلن نرم یا LDPE است که داخل آن توسط کارخانه سازنده، قطره چکان هایی به فواصل مشخص نصب شده است. قطره چکان به شکل استوانه ای می باشد که داخل لوله گنجانده شده است. خود قطره چکان صافی و درز هایی دارد که آب را فیلتر کرده و در اختیار گیاه قرار می دهد. اما با این حال در زمانی که آب آبیاری حاوی مواد آلی باشد، وجود سیستم فیلتراسیون به خصوص فیلتر دیسکی امری ضروری است.
