There are no suicides in heaven
Spirits rise and fall time and again
There are buffalo bones beneath the craters of the moon
I drink the river to ease my pain

I saw an angel in a bottle
Saved by White Bird and Spokane
And three feathers dipped in Shoshone blood and wine
I drink the river to kill my pain

So many spirits without a face
Souls that can never be contained
I hear the buffalo`s final history song
And I drink the river once again

God bless the buffalo
The chiefs of Idaho
I bend my brow to the ancient nature tribes

The dead of Idaho
I bow my head to to the ash of wounded knee

Red graves of Idaho
The blood, the milk and the methamphetamine

I listen to the dry tongues of America
I see the eagles over Highway 29
I saw a feather drop to earth like a stone
I had a dream about the buffalo
