Thapogiri is a place where Subhananda Gurudevan (Swami Subhananda) undertook intense meditation after his mother's death. It was after years of penance and meditation at Thapogiri that he began his mission to liberate people, particularly the marginalized and untouchable communities, by teaching them the message of equality in the eyes of God.
About Subhananda Gurudevan: Born in 1882, he was a social reformer and spiritual leader who worked tirelessly to uplift the underprivileged.
His mission: He founded the Sree Subhananda Ashram in Mavelikara, in 1918 to propagate his message of peace and equality.
Significance of Thapogiri: This was a significant location for him, where he experienced deep spiritual enlightenment through his "thapas" (penance).

ശുഭാനന്ദ ഗുരുദേവനെക്കുറിച്ച്: 1882 ൽ ജനിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു സാമൂഹിക പരിഷ്കർത്താവും ആത്മീയ നേതാവുമായിരുന്നു, ദരിദ്രരെ ഉന്നമിപ്പിക്കാൻ അക്ഷീണം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
