Topics covered in this book includes:
1. all pitches, plus one chromatic pitch- do/c, re/d, mi/e, fa/f, fi/f-sharp, sol/g, la/a, ti/b
2. basic rhythms for pitches and rests- quaver/eighth, cratchet/quarter, minim/half, semibreve/whole, the tie, the augmentation dot/dotted note
3. octave marks- 4th and 5th
4. time signatures, bars, and bar lines- 4/4, 3/4, C, FINE bar/ending/heavy double barline, single barlines, repeats ( :|| ) "braille" repeat
5. Sharp, flat, natural

This product is excellent for anyone who wants to learn the basics of Braille Music. The Lessons are well organized, and well layout. The Skills Check is a very nice feature to test knowledge leavel/comprehension.

This book can suplimented with writing music by ear, and rhythm and sight singing excerpts from other books of similare materiale.

‼️👉SPECIAL NOTE:
Although this book is ment to be used with a soprano recorder (not included), it advised for the student to sing the music using Solfa before picking up an instrument. This is a teaching philasophy that has been lost as of late. The aim of "music lessons" was to teach what we now call music "theory" and "sight singing" and "ear training", namely:
1. reading and knowing what music symbols look like
2. singing pitches, intervals, and chords using Solfa
3. identifying pitches, intrtvals, and chords by ear
4. writing music that is heard
5. understanding how all these were put together by copywork of quality musicians, analysis, and improvising/composing.

All the "master" composers that many look up learneed these skills before they began "formal" studies on an instrument.

Learning to sight read music away from an instrument will greatly improve memory, and musicianship when the student does pick an instrument for the first time.

With that said, the student should be fluent in music note reading before playing an instrument.
