Exomotive returns to VIR on Saturday May 19th with the LS3-powered Exocet V8 for a bonus fourth session of the 2018 Ultimate Track Car Challenge granted due to heavy rains the day before. The field of America's fastest track cars hit the track at VIR for one last chance to improve their times and experienced the worst downpour of the weekend. Fighting standing water all over the track, the session claimed many cars as conditions worsened throughout the final laps. Watch our scary moment of the session as driver Jason Owens fights a spin under the bridge and taps the wall.
Despite the extreme rains and local flooding during the 2018 Ultimate Track Car Challenge, Jason's driving skills were able to take home 11th place out of nearly fifty of America's fastest track cars. We're honored to be part of the event and already excited to bring the car back next year with additional upgrades and updates.
Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, The Ultimate Track Car Challenge, is an annual, no-holds-barred track competition that simply seeks the fastest machines on four wheels. Exomotive returns to the 2018 UTCC for their fifth year of competition against the world’s quickest track cars.
This Exomotive Exocet Sport V8 was built by Exomotive as our fifth factory-built prototype vehicle for LSx V8 development and is known internally as XP-5. Featuring a wet weight of 1690 pounds and 441whp / 436 ft-lbs, this Exocet is an example of incredible power to weight ratio. During this wet practice session, the car was equipped with Maxxis VR-1 245/40-15 tires on JR19 15x10.5” wheels. The vehicle is controlled with an MS3Pro tuned by DIYAutoTune and custom exhaust by Exomotive & Enthuzacar.
