Live action Ariel Little Mermaid Cosplay dress! And also a Tutorial

I have been on a Disney Princess costume sewing kick for several years now and I thought I'd revisit under the sea! Well, last time I did Ariel's blue "above the sea dress" so this time I'm visiting Atlantica! This all started when I was talking to my best friend and suddenly had an idea and sent her a quick sketch and she loved it! The design has changed several times since that first sketch but I love how it came out in the end. And it was also a great excuse to buy myself a Finfun Mermaid tail!

This is partially an upcycled thrift flip because the corset is made from an old prom dress but the rest was fabric I've been collecting for months. I don't know exactly how much organza is in the skirt but there are a lot of ruffles, a whole ocean of ruffles. For details I used lots of hand applied pearls, rhinestones and some seaweed! Well, it was leaf trim that smells much better than seaweed.
