Signal path--- Jazzmaster with Novak JM-V (neck) and JM180 (bridge) → Fender Concert → AKG 414 → FMR RNP → Focusrite Saffire Pro → Pro Tools
No EQ, no compression, no post processing was done to the signal.
This is a MIJ Jazzmaster upgraded with Curtis Novak JM-V and JM-180 pickups. Part one is a demo of just the guitar plugged direct into the amp on clean so the difference in the dynamic and clarity of the pickups could be discerned. Part two, I patched my pedalboard in with a modded TS808, SD Fat Boost, EHX Memory Toy, and Line6 DL4.
Forgive any "wrong" notes. I hoped only to make a decent review of these awesome pickups by Curtis Novak. I am not affiliated with Curtis, but if this video helped you decide to get his pickups, let him know!
I posted a similar video of this guitar with the same amp settings and signal path when it had the original MIJ pickups. The one difference being I had to ever-so-slightly back my preamp down to prevent clipping since these pickups have a much hotter output. Check it out on my channel!
Shot with Canon 7d 50mm 1.8 and Canon EOS M 22mm 2.0
