The 1st Dr. Kolawole Peregrino Street Soccer Tournament, held on Sunday, 7th December 2025 concluded with an impressive turnout and a vibrant display of grassroots football, attracting residents, community leaders, and youth from across the area.

The event was hosted by The Councillor representing Ward A and Leader of the Legislative Arm, Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, Honourable Oladimeji Kehinde Hassan, who reaffirmed his commitment to youth development and community engagement through sports. His leadership and support were widely acknowledged by participants and spectators.

The tournament also received distinguished guests, including Dr. Kolawole Peregrino, Hon. Bola Oladunjoye,
Hon Fuad Atanda Lawal was represented by Hon Abubakar Mohammed (Jamal)
Mrs Shola Adeshina, Mrs Anu Amusan, pastor Gbenga Jacob, Alhaji Sikiru Sule, Mrs Shaki Barry, Hon Taiwo Afinnih, Hon Goke Ona Olawale, Ward A APC party executives and several Ward A leaders whose presence added significance to the event.

Matches throughout the day were keenly contested, with teams exhibiting remarkable discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Spectators enjoyed a lively atmosphere as young talents showcased their abilities on the field.

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) played a pivotal role in coordinating the tournament. Members of the committee —

The tournament has been described as a significant step toward strengthening community bonds, promoting positive youth engagement, and sustaining grassroots sports development. Organisers expressed optimism about expanding the competition in future editions.
