Boiling more than a few gallons of sap indoors is impractical, but we aren't collecting enough to justify the cost of an evaporator. Today I'll show you the rocket stove I use to boil my sap. Using this in conjunction with our outdoor canner and fallen limbs in the woods we are able to boil all of the sap we bring in - though at the time of writing, we have had to add a second rocket stove with another pot to handle what we've been bringing in each day. If you're also on the fence about buying an evaporator and have a lot of sap to deal with, this may be the answer for you!
