In this video I show the first step of teaching your horse that relaxing the neck and putting their head down is a better response than running away or spooking. Teach your horse to drop their head down with a little downward pressure on the rope halter. When you add other kinds of pressure like noises or movement of a flag you can show them that if they put their head down you will take the pressure away. Ask your horse to keep their head down long enough so they can feel the benefit of a reduced heart rate.
