Today I had an opportunity to ride with the leader of the 2019 Trans America Bicycle Race, Abdullah Zeinab. He was more than happy to answer my questions. (Unlike last year's leader) It was such an honor to meet and ride with him. This man is breaking records on the Trans Am this year and he's doing it the old fashioned way.
Later when the camera was off I asked him about his riding style. He explained that he could work really hard on the climbs for one KPH, or he could work hard on the flats for 5 KPH. He climbed easy, rested on the descents, and powered in his aerobars on the flats.
