Familiar yet Different: A Few Trains at Carlisle
Short Cement
Electric hauled Engineers
10 Feb 25
A short video from Carlisle station with a few familiar trains but one or two differences!
The cement empties to Clitheroe was formed of only four tanks instead of the usual ten.
The DRS Engineer's train to Basford Hall Yard was hauled by a class 88 - that's very unusual! I assume the loco was needed at Gresty Bridge depot!
At the end you get the briefest of glimpses of one of Network Rail's 153 Test units running on the goods lines - I didn't realise they were (just) visible from the station!
The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.
Any observations are my own and not intended to show any authority and may show my misunderstanding.
