DA42 Navigating Icing and Winter STORMS | Buffalo NY to Lexington KY

Fly with me and Dirk Vander Zee after clearing customs in Buffalo New York (KBUF) to Lexington Kentucky (KLEX)!
Today I picked up a brand new DA42 from the Diamond Factory for the flight school that I completed my Commercial Multi Rating Add-On almost two years ago. It feels so full circle to be able to bring ASU Skyline their brand new trainer.
After enjoying a "Beef on Wick" sandwich at Charlie the Butcher's, we devised a plan to punch through a wall of weather on our way to the last stop of Day 1. There were spotty storms along our route, with icing on the upper levels. After accumulating some light rime, I decided to descend for the warmer temperatures. After flying IMC for almost two hours, we broke out to some beautiful skies and some formation flying.
We were greeted with some gusty winds on landing, and ended the day with a much needed Kentucky Bourbon!
This is episode 2 of 3 following my flight from the Diamond Factory all the way to Lakeland, Florida as the display aircraft for Sun n' Fun!!
