Norfolk & Western 4-8-4 611 returned to the Virginia Scenic Railroad in 2025 to power another round of "Shenandoah Valley Limited" excursions. Operating from Goshen to Staunton, VA, these trips saw the J class locomotive reach speeds up to 40 MPH on the former Chesapeake & Ohio line.
The majority of the passengers cars used for these excursions were provided by the Steam Railroading Institute, based in Owosso, Michigan.
