ኢሬቻ በአዲስ አበባ | Irreecha in Addis Ababa

Irreecha (also spelled Erecha) is a traditional thanksgiving festival of the Oromo people in Ethiopia. It is celebrated at the end of the rainy season (around September/October) to thank Waaqa (God) for peace, fertility, and abundance. People gather near rivers or lakes, wearing cultural clothes, carrying fresh green grass and flowers as symbols of life and prosperity. It is also a time of unity, joy, and blessing for the coming year.
