in this video we describe how to check properly a refrigerator defrost timer and repair it by yourself at home.
if your refrigerator doesn't work at all or if you hear compressor running but not cooling, most of the possible cause is this defrost timer switch is defected.
this defrost timer switch the power between compressor and the defrost heater. it will be operated as a cycles by this time switch.
6 to 8 hours frosting periode and 20, 30 minutes defrosting periode included per one cycles.
so when this timer switch defected it will not switch between frosting and defrosting, then definitely your refrigerator will not be cool. even if you hear compressor is running and fridge side wall slightly hot, it will not cool your fridge. because as it not goes to defrost whole condenser frosted and ventilation ducts are also cloged by frozen ice. then no way to ventilation and cool all over the fridge.
so if you experience not working your refrigerator, first just check this defrost timer, sometimes you can hear noice from this timer, but it might not working.
this timer is the most possible cause to defect your refrigerator.
