In Missouri, an elusive phone interview can stand between families and food even when they qualify for assistance. We hear from neighbors, caseworkers, and the Harvesters Community Food Network as they highlight the barriers associated with accessing the Missouri SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
Amidst a nation-wide increase in food insecurity, housing costs, and healthcare and decrease in funding for social programs such as food stamps, this piece investigates the experiences of vulnerable populations, the future implications of this inadequacy, and how communities can advocate for this infrastructure.
