After surviving sexual assault at 23, Natasha Valdes lost the one thing that once made her feel powerful—her voice. Years later, a triggering moment in grad school revealed that her silence wasn’t weakness but her body’s way of surviving trauma. Through trauma-informed voicework, she discovered that the voice and nervous system are deeply connected—and that the voice itself can be medicine. In this powerful TEDx talk, Natasha shares how sound, breath, and awareness can help us reclaim safety, heal our stories, and find our voices again.
