If you grew up watching Musicals, then you know of the Proscenium Arch, one of cinemas all-time masterpieces of visual framing technique. Normally I would talk about this ingenious framing in passing, but not today. Instead, I’d like to explore the full evolution of the Proscenium Arch in all (important) Musical Cinema.
