This is the examples for What Do You Hear? #4 for The Magic of Music Theory Book 1 for Violin. Students will listen to 3 notes and identify if the notes they hear go up, stay the same or go down. Then they will listen to two, two measure melodies and identify if the melodies are the same or if they are different. Answers are given after each question for the student to have immediate feedback to assist in learning.
The Magic of Music Theory is a workbook series for string players that teaches music theory, and aural skills. Students learn music theory from the perspective of the violin fingerboard! This series reinforces concepts taught in the lesson with workbook pages, games, and activities to do at home.
Developed for use in private violin lessons, this series allows the student to practice staff reading by learn to draw and write music on the staff as explained from the fingerboard. These short, fun, engaging lessons introduce the student to drawing the basic note values on the staff, reviewing the music alphabet, parts of the violin, fingerboard pitches. Then introducing time signatures, counting, dynamics and much more. This series can also be easily adapted and used for group class instruction.
